Lawyer for suspected death squad cop questions arrest procedure
An attorney for former police constable Witney Hutchinson has complained about the circumstances that led the Canadian Police to take him into custody in July.
Carolyn Reid-Cameron said she was informed that the ex-constable was being held pursuant to a warrant issued by a special coroner in Jamaica.
However, she pointed out that no inquest was held to hear the allegations against her client and raised questions about whether his constitutional rights were breached.
In addition, Reid-Cameron says to her certain knowledge there was no request for Hutchinson’s extradition.
