Fairway Avenue in St Andrew closed for repairs

The National Works Agency (NWA) has closed Fairway Avenue in St Andrew to undertake emergency repairs.

The NWA says a section of the road, between Lady Musgrave Road and Seymour Avenue, collapsed Sunday following heavy rains over the weekend.

The agency noted that the affected section was recently excavated by the National Water Commission as part of its Sewer Improvement works.

The NWA says motorists traveling from the direction of Stanton Terrace and wishing to travel along Fairway Avenue to Lady Musgrave Road will be rerouted to Seymour Avenue, then to Seaview Avenue and back onto Lady Musgrave Road.

It says the reverse obtains for motorists wishing to travel towards Stanton Terrace from the direction of Lady Musgrave Road.

The NWA says the traffic changes are expected to last until Friday and motorists are being advised to obey posted warning signs and the instructions of flag persons.
