KINGSTON, Jamaica:
The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) can go ahead and select a candidate for the North West St Ann constituency as the injunction which barred the party from taking any action has expired.

Last month, JLP caretaker Othneil Lawrence was granted a 14-day injunction which blocked the party from removing him.

Hugh Wildman, who is representing Lawrence, had applied for an extension but this morning Senior Puisne Judge Gloria Smith said she could not extend the injunction which had expired.

The judge set a date of January 26 next year to hear Lawrence's application.

Lawrence is challenging the decision of the JLP to remove him as caretaker for the North West St Ann constituency.

JLP Leader Andrew Holness and General Secretary, Dr Horace Chang are the respondents.
