Flash flood warning in effect for St Ann, St Mary and Portland
A flash flood warning is now in effect for low-lying and flood-prone areas of St Ann, St Mary and Portland.
The warning, which means that flash flooding has been reported, is in effect until five this evening.
According to the Meteorological Service, a trough remains across the central Caribbean including Jamaica, which continues to influence weather conditions across northern parishes.
It is expected that the warning will be extended until tomorrow morning.
While the warning is in effect it is recommended that persons should not attempt to cross flooded roadways or other low-lying areas as strong currents are likely and be ready for quick action by moving to higher ground if rising waters is observed.
