An inspiring story
As Minister of tourism and entertainment, I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to the management and staff of Caribbean Producers Jamaica Limited (CPJ) as they celebrate their 20th anniversary. This is indeed a significant milestone and is proof of the commitment of the CPJ team.
The success of this innovative company exemplifies the opportunities which exist to develop viable and reputable businesses in Jamaica, and what can be achieved through a clear vision and determination.
The story behind this company is truly inspiring. Mark Hart and Tom Tyler started CPJ in 1994 with a shipment of toilet paper, before expanding to disposables, cheeses, canned goods and meats, serving the hospitality industry as an integrated food-service distributor. Today, CPJ has emerged as Jamaica's leading distributor within the hospitality industry, as well as a manufacturer and retail marketer, serving the wider Caribbean.
Your outstanding record of service has earned you recognition over the years as Purveyor of the Year from the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association, which is tangible evidence that CPJ is a first-class organisation, one which continues to perform exceptionally well both locally, regionally and internationally, competing against other established purveyors to the tourism sector.
CPJ's vision for growth and development mirrors that of the Ministry of Tourism and Entertainment, as we play our part in advancing tourism and supporting the nation's growth agenda.
CPJ has been expanding its range of services over the years, and it appears well positioned to meet the needs of the growing hotel sector, which continues to expand at a rapid pace.
I would like to commend Mark and Tom for their entrepreneurial vision, as well as their dedicated staff who have contributed to the company's continued success.
On behalf of the Ministry of Tourism and Entertainment and its agencies, I offer you best wishes for a memorable anniversary celebration and continued success in your endeavours.
Dr Wykeham McNeill
