MAY PEN, Clarendon:
The body of a Chinese businessman was this afternoon found with its throat slashed in Hayes, Clarendon.
He has been identified as 26-year-old Jun Peng.
The body was found about 2 o’clock on the Dawkins Pen main road that leads to Salt River.
Peng, operated the Micell Anna & Peng Wholesale and Supermarket in Lionel Town and a similar business on Chapelton Road in May Pen.
Workers say Peng had left his May Pen store in a taxi enroute to Lionel Town but never made it.
A taxi operator who regularly transported Peng told The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre that he had earlier transported the businessman from Lionel Town to May Pen.
He said at 12.30 Peng telephoned him asking that he takes him back to Lionel Town.
However, the taxi operator said he was not able to and so Peng apparently called another taxi.
Police investigators are the scene at this hour.
