The Governor General, Sir Patrick Allen, says for this Christmas, he has challenged Jamaicans to once again bring joy into the lives of the needy and more vulnerable in our nation.

He notes that sometimes Christmas becomes a stressful time instead of joyous as persons feel pressured to spend even more than they can afford on material things.

According to him, this year, Jamaicans come to this season with thoughts of the many challenges which they have faced individually and as a nation.

He says many mourn the loss of loved ones: some were victims of crime or of traffic accidents; others succumbed to illness and others are concerned about their financial circumstances and worry about whether they will find a better tomorrow in this country.

However, he says Christmas is a reminder that there is, in each of us, a spark which can ignite solutions to the challenges we confront.
