The Rising of the Rejects

Throughout the Bible, there are many instances where we see the least become the greatest and the weak becoming the strong. Those considered to be the least and the weakest are the rejects of the society/marketplace. They are the ones God always raises up to bring both solutions and glory in hard and dark times.

In II Kings 7, the entire city - indeed, a nation - was enduring hard times to the point of cannibalism, and it was the four rejects that God used to bring victory and blessing to the nation of people.

A nation was constantly suffering defeat, and it was David, the reject, that God used to defeat the Philistines.

A people with no hope - and it was one who came and was rejected by His own, yet He made the ultimately sacrifice for all so that we would not need to suffer such a death.

Gully Bop

When we look at our own music industry, it is refreshing to see the rise of 'Gully Bop'. As long as his music and motives are pure, he has the potential to rally the rejects and anyone else who feels like things are over.

For 2015, many rejects will come to the forefront and bring hope and solutions to the people. We are inspired by those in the Bible such as Gideon, Joseph and Esther.

The society has been failing because the wrong persons have been placed in positions. That is why we will need leaders who can see things the way God wants us to see things.

There is nothing wrong with intellect, but intellect without God's spirit becomes ineffective. Man looks at the outward appearance or circumstance - age, titles and even educational achievements, for example; but God searches the heart - He looks beyond all that to the core of an individual.

As a nation, we have failed to capitalise on many opportunities throughout 2014, because we have refused to seek God concerning His will as it relates to all things great and small.

The problems we are now encountering is the ignoring of God's guidance by leaders. There is a focus now on the New Age doctrine and the 'religion' of secularism leading us on a path of chaos.

I Corinthians 1 says that ". . . the foolishness of God is wiser than men . . .". God uses the base things, the rejected things, the despised things, the weak things - according to the eyes and minds of men - and confound those who deem themselves wise and bring about miraculous things. So all those who ridicule the weak, the rejected, the despised, the poor and even the Word and the things of God, they are about to get a rude awakening!

God always uses what is considered as nothing to bring to naught what is thought of as great.

So, regardless of how highly a politician esteems him/herself, they can bring no change for the better unless they become the beneficiaries of God's wisdom and guidance, as well as His grace and favour.

I encourage every organisation and every political party to begin to look again within their organisation and find those they consider to be unusable and begin to use them. Don't be like the West Indies cricket management team, who keep looking at the wrong areas instead of the administration and its practices. Nobody wants to see the West Indies cricket team demoted from test status. Mr Cameron, I hope you will take heed.

Family

Many have failed to put the family on the forefront in 2014. We better begin to do that as the new year approaches. Passing laws which will negatively affect the family will create more problems! The family is the first line of government and that foundational mechanism must be fixed. So, common-law relationships need to be addressed seriously from every angle if we want to see economic change. Fixing the family will reduce crime. Many times, we blame the police for things we should be addressing. Many turn to crime because there is no true justice system. The justice system does not truly address the issues for the poor.

It was Haile Selassie who said, "Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have acted; the indifference of those who should have known better; the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered most; that has made it possible for evil to triumph."

Happy New Year to all. May 2015 be a year of God's favour for you.
