Kids delighted with Faith United Christmas treat
The non-stop laughter from the children of the Mandela Terrace community in St Andrew was evidence of the fun they were having at the Christmas treat.
Sherona, Monique, Vanessa, CJ, Tajay, Yanique, Shion, Ronaldo, and the over 100 children of all ages were caught up in the many fun-filled activities and ecstatic about the many prizes, surprises, gifts, and giveaways on the afternoon of Sunday, December 21, all gleeful and thankful for the many offerings.
Thanks to the many sponsors, including Digicel, SportsMax, Headline Entertainment, CB Chicken, and several individuals, Faith United Church of God was able to host another successful Christmas treat for the community.
Toys, gifts, loot bags, Digicel phone card giveaways, and other spot prizes, ice cream; food, and refreshments, along with a host of exciting, fun-filled activities helped to give the children of the inner-city community an enjoyable Christmas.
"Look at my dolly!" eight-year-old Kimona showed off to her friends.
"My ball light up," seven-year-old Davian said as he bounced the ball all over the church hall, fascinated by the sparkling lights and sounds of his new toy.
The teenagers were more delighted with the double phone credit they got to talk and text all day, thanks to Digicel's generosity.
"I put on one of my credit already and waiting till January 1 to put on the other one 'cause I want my full double credit," CJ told his friends, happy that he won two phone cards during the spot prize giveaways.
Charles Francis, pastor of the church, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the many sponsors and contributors who helped to make Faith United's fifth annual Christmas treat a success.
"This year's treat has been one of the best we have had thanks to the support and contributions we got. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who made it possible. May God continue to bless them always. They really helped these children to have a wonderful Christmas," said Francis.
