On New Year's Day, Fontana Pharmacy, Barbican, hosted a community treat which saw approximately 400 children from in and around the Barbican community enjoying rides, games, refreshments, and confectioneries.

"Giving back to the community along with a strong focus on family have been core values of our organisation for the past 45 years," said Raymond Therrien, a director of Fontana Pharmacy. This thrust is reflected in the events sponsored and spearheaded by all five stores in their various communities. Since opening the Barbican outlet two years ago, Fontana has committed to hosting the community event to not only allow the children to enjoy themselves, but to issue back-to-school items for the new semester. This year, each child received a care package which included a combination of lunch kits, school bags, pencil cases, stationery supplies and sweet treats, among others.

But fun was foremost in the mix, to get the children refreshed for the new school term.

Fontana received sponsorship support from Wisynco, who provided snacks, a refreshment tent and an ice-cream tent; Massy Distributors, who provided food items and snacks; and with Patel JN and Company Ltd and Konvertra Ltd, who supplied stationery items.
