Who's Who in Jamaica Business 2014-2015 edition is out
The hotly anticipated second edition of Who's Who in Jamaica Business began arriving in corporate offices across Jamaica for the new year.
The nation's pre-eminent business-to-business publication, from Cousins Publishing Limited, once again showcases Jamaica's best business organisations and its leaders. The publishers also named Insurance Company of the West Indies founder Dennis Lalor, as its 2014-2015 business icon. With nearly 10,000 copies being circulated across the business community to domestic and foreign investors, and to foreign and Jamaican diplomatic missions, Who's Who in Jamaica Business 2014-2015 continues to be the foremost tool in promoting business connectivity locally, regionally and internationally by highlighting the top organisations and leaders in Jamaican business.
The publication, along with its accompanying website, whoswhojamaica.com, continues its mission to encourage business competition and innovation in Jamaica. Close to 100 of Jamaica's top companies and organisations are included in the publication and the website. Newer companies, new brands, innovative services, growing businesses, institutions of higher education and public sector organisations are all featured.
Cousins Publishing co-founder Din Duggan describes the second edition "as a testament to the resilience and grit of the Jamaican economy and its constituent parts".
He says: "These parts, the organisations featured within the pages of the publication, are the very best of the Jamaican business community - small, medium, and large enterprises whose leaders have worked assiduously to keep the economic engine of Jamaica churning."
Co-founder, Paul R. Lewis, notes, "Throughout the publication, the reader will find heavy doses of the economic prescription that will propel Jamaica's growth, [and] continued development of sophisticated small and medium enterprises,
export-oriented entities, and Jamaica's burgeoning logistics capabilities."
Each year, the publishers select and feature a business icon who has, throughout his/her career, made considerable contributions to the growth and development of Jamaica's business community. This year's icon, Lalor, is described as an extraordinary Jamaican who has led an exemplary life in business, philanthropy, and sports.
The publication also features a tribute to Francis 'Paco' Kennedy, late president of the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, by Milton Samuda, chairman of JAMPRO. It also includes an essay on Jamaica's logistics hub by Dr Eric Deans, chairman of the Jamaica Logistics Hub Taskforce of the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce.
Who's Who in Jamaica Business is not available on news stands. The publication is being distributed across the business community. It will also
