JDF soldier dies in Clarendon crash

KINGSTON, Jamaica:

An accident along the Bustamante Highway in Clarendon claimed the life of a Jamaica Defence Force soldier this morning.




He has been identified as 27-year-old Horane Andale White.



According to an eyewitness, at about 7 a.m. a trailer was heading towards Tollgate in the parish when the driver overtook a line of traffic.



The trailer reportedly hit White’s Honda Civic motor car which was travelling towards Kingston.



The vehicle the solider was driving hit a Toyota car in the back and then hit another Isuzu pick up before it ended up in a drain on the opposite side of the road.



White, who was on his way to work, died on the spot.



The trailer did not stop.



The driver of the Isuzu pick up has been hospitalised.



The accident caused a huge traffic pileup for miles, resulting in lengthy delays.
