The customs department is reporting that a security team seized about $47 million worth of cocaine last Friday.

It says no one has been arrested.

A statement from the agency did not disclose the circumstances under which the contraband, weighing about 48.7 kilograms, was seized.

The agency says its Border Protection Unit and the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Trans-national Crimes and Narcotics Division are investigating the matter.

Members of the Jamaica Customs Contraband Enforcement Team and Jamaica Constabulary Force's Trans-national Crimes and Narcotics Division made the seizure.
