Six men arrested in early morning operation, to face ID parade in connection with other crimes
The Manchester police have arrested and charged six men allegedly linked to various crimes in the parish.
The men were held during an early morning operation.
The police say two illegal firearms were found in the men’s possession during a search operation on the Winston Jones Highway.
However, they are withholding the names of the men pending an identification parade, which they believe will confirm the men’s involvement in other crimes.
The police report that shortly after after midnight, personnel were on patrol on the Winston Jones Highway in the vicinity of the Total gas station, when they stopped two cars - a Nissan Tiida and Nissan Sunny.
They say the Nissan Tiida, with three men on board, was searched and a Smith and Wesson pistol with live cartridges found.
The Nissan Sunny, also with three men on board, was searched and a Ruger Pistol with live cartridges was found.
The men were later arrested and charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
