Forest Ridge Apartments-A Breath of Fresh Air in Red Hills
West Indies Home Contractors Limited (WIHCON) have started construction of the Forest Ridge Development, designed to meet the needs of young couples who are establishing a family home and upwardly mobile young, single professionals seeking to invest in real estate within the Kingston and St Andrew area.
The gated community, conveniently located just five minutes from the foot of Red Hills will comprise in total 67 apartments and condos strategically located on eight and a half acres of land.
The apartment block will have 29 studios ranging in size from approximately 635 square feet to 800 square feet, and 14 two-bedroom apartments, each approximately 950 square feet.
The development will also include 12 three-bedroom condos, each approximately 1,675 square feet, and 12 two-bedroom condos, each approximately 1,012 square feet. The facility is projected to be completed by March 2016, with units priced between approximately $14 million and $28 million.
According to Aisha Campbell, general manager of WIHCON, the company is fulfilling its mandate of satisfying market demand for homes within a reasonably priced budget. "We want to put products out there so that a wide spectrum of persons who want to own a home can do so. WIHCON is committed to providing our customers with the best quality product as we continue to build communities and build our nation," Campbell said.
This beautifully landscaped development, with features such as a clubhouse and multi-purpose courts, also conveys a sense of calm and serenity and is further enhanced by a captivating view of the city.
The architects, Plexus Limited, have incorporated a modern approach to what might be considered a traditional look by integrating shed roofs, arches, textures and bands.
Potential purchasers will have the option to choose from a variety of functional floor plans that will each include high-quality interior fixtures and finishes.
WIHCON is synonymous with home building in Jamaica and was the first to construct a housing development on the island, with the introduction of the 630 houses at the Mona Heights development in 1958.
