Moncrieffe's Patio Shop to host flea market sale
Flea markets are nothing new, people have used them to access various items and great prices over the years.
But one devoted to wrought iron? That sounds different. And that's what Moncrieffe's Patio Shop will give the public on Saturday.
Owner Barbara Moncrieffe is breaking new ground with the event.
"To my knowledge, there has never been a wrought, iron flea market, at least not in the Corporate Area," she said.
Moncrieffe's is known for providing quality furniture, specifically tables, whether dining, coffee or side tables including for the patio and lounge, all made with wrought iron as bases.
Other products include grill doors and gates, garbage bins (who says your trash can't look fashionable?), as well as picture and glass frames and planters.
Moncrieffe added that, in conceptualising the sale, the term 'flea market' was added to attract women, as they were more likely to attend flea markets.
With a myriad of items that can improve the look of any home, and with everyone looking for a good deal, the sale should be a match made in wrought-iron heaven.
EYES ON SUCCESS
"We hope it will be successful and then maybe, hopefully, we can have it every month, around month end," said Moncrieffe.
"We have a large volume of pieces to choose from, and plus we're trying to drum up a little business."
The sale starts at 9 a.m. and goes until about 5 p.m.
"It gets dark quickly these days so we have to think about safety," she said.
The 'home of quality wrought iron', Moncrieffe's was started in 2013. There are two sections to the property, the main office on Old Hope Road, with the adjoining outlet at 4 Lady Musgrave Road. The latter will host the flea-market sale.
"You can expect everything wrought iron," said Moncrieffe, specifying that larger items like staircases would not be included, this time.
"We're only dealing with furniture this weekend alone."
