The police have charged a 47-year-old man for using a relative’s name to fraudulently obtain a Taxpayer Registration Number (TRN).

Paul Gerrow, of Portmore, St Catherine, was charged yesterday for forgery and uttering forged documents.

He is scheduled to appear before the Corporate Area Criminal Court on March 11.

The Corporate Communication Unit of the police force says Gerrow made the fraudulent application in 2005.

And it says the fraud was discovered yesterday when the relative applied for his TRN.

The matter was referred to the Fraud Squad for investigations and Gerrow was subsequently arrested and charged.
