A 14-year-old student of Donald Quarrie High was this morning reportedly beheaded at her home in Newlands, St Thomas.

She has been identified as Kayalicia Simpson.

The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre understands that Simpson woke up approximately four o’clock and went to an outside bathroom to take a shower.

When she did not return, her grandmother reportedly went to investigate.

She found the teen’s body with her head severed.

The police say no motive has yet been established for the killing and no suspects identified.

“She was found at the back of the house, with chop wounds to her forehead, head and neck. Based on the mode of dress with blouse on and boxers, it appears she was preparing for school” said deputy superintendent of police, Beresford Williams, acting commander of St Thomas.
