A trauma team from the Ministry of Education (MOE) is expected to visit Parry Town Primary School in St Ann to provide counselling and other interventions to students and teachers affected by last Friday’s attack.

Board chairman Ian Bell says while classes have resumed members of the school community remain traumatised by the incident.

Bell says the ministry team is expected to visit the school over two days starting today to offer support services.

He says an emergency Parent Teachers' Association meeting has been called for tomorrow to discuss security issues at the school.

Classes at Parry Town primary were disrupted last week Friday after two men invaded a grade three class and attacked an eight-year-old male student.

It is alleged that the student had hit another student, who is a relative of the men.

The eight-year-old boy and a teacher who was injured in the attack had to seek medical attention.

Both men have since been charged in relation to the attack.
