Guns used in killing of Manchester policeman seized
The Manchester Police have disclosed that two of six firearms seized in the parish so far this year, were used in the December murder of Constable Orville Preddie.
Constable Preddie was shot and killed on December 18, 2014 while at a bar and grocery shop in the Farm community.
The police say ballistics reports confirmed that the two guns were involved in the murder.
And they say six men from the Greenvale community in the parish were arrested in relation to the seizure of those two guns.
One man has been charged for the policeman’s murder.
Along with the firearms, over 2,089 rounds of ammunition were also seized between January 1 and March 2 of this year.
Most of the ammunition were recovered in yesterday's massive find.
Ten other persons have been arrested for firearms and ammunition seizures in the parish.
Four motor vehicles have also been seized.
