GLEANER SPECIAL: Revisiting Green Bay

Published:Wednesday | March 4, 2015 | 8:34 AM

Thirty-seven-years ago, five men from the Central Kingston community of Southside were shot dead by Jamaica Defence Force soldiers at the Green Bay shooting range in St Catherine.

Like the Tivoli operations of 2010, the Kraal killings of 2003 and the Braeton shootings of 2001, the Green Bay affair stoked intense public outcry.

The implicated soldiers were later acquitted of murder charges, but in the minds of many, the Green Bay affair was never resolved.

In this special from our archives The Gleaner revisits the Green Bay affair.
