The People’s National Party (PNP) has reserved public comment on an altercation in which it is alleged that North West St Ann Member of Parliament, Dr Dayton Campbell, drew his licensed firearm.

Yesterday, it was reported that while at a meeting in the constituency on Monday night a man approached Campbell and made certain demands.

It is further reported that when the demands were not met the MP and the man got involved in an altercation.

It is alleged that Campbell pulled his firearm during the argument.

He has reportedly submitted his licensed firearm for testing by police investigators.

In a statement last night the PNP said it was aware of the matter and that it has been assured that Dr Campbell is cooperating fully with the police investigations.

The party said it would not make any further public comment unless deemed appropriate, directing all queries to the MP’s lawyer, Oswest Senior Smith.
