Palace Resorts distances self from Moon Palace work stoppage
Palace Resorts says its not to be blamed for the cause of yesterday’s work stoppage at its Moon Palace Jamaica Grande hotel, in Ocho Rios, St Ann.
In a release this morning, Palace Resorts acknowledged what it says is a payment dispute between local contractors and a construction company renovating the hotel.
However, it says Moon Palace is not involved with payment for the contractors.
According to the resort owners, the project management company which is carrying out the renovations at the former Sunset Resorts property has been paid in full.
It explains that it is the responsibly of the project management company to pay the workers contracted for the renovation work.
However, Palace Resort says it is working to ensure that all contractors are compensated in a timely manner.
Meanwhile, Palace Resort says everything is on track to complete Moon Palace Jamaica Grande’s in time for opening on April 11.
