Attorneys Brady, Lorne for court today
Well-known attorneys Harold Brady and Michael Lorne are to be brought before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court today to answer to fraud charges.
Brady was charged by investigators at Fraud Squad yesterday.
The attorney is being accused of failing to hand over monies from the sale of a property belonging to businessman Jeffery Panton.
It is reported that the property was sold for $31 million.
Panton has reportedly complained that he has been waiting for more than six months for the payment.
Brady was offered bail in the sum of $3 million.
However, the attorney remained in custody last night as he had not met one of the bail conditions.
Meanwhile, Michael Lorne, who was charged with forgery and fraudulent conversation on Wednesday in relation to the sale of a property is also set to appear in the same court today.
According to Fraud Squad investigators, the allegations are in regard to the sale of a house in the east Kingston community of Rockfort.
One investigator revealed that the house, which is jointly owned by siblings who reside overseas, was sold for six million dollars in 2011.
However, the investigator said one of the siblings, who resides in the Unites States, complained that she did not get the $3 million she was entitled to from the sale of the house.
Lorne has insisted he is innocent.
