St Elizabeth police seize ganja, seeds and ammo

The St Elizabeth police say they seized three 9-millimetre rounds of ammunition, six pounds of ganja and a quantity of ganja seeds in Vineyard district during an operation on yesterday.

The lawmen reportedly conducted a search of premises in the area between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. yesterday during which the ammunition was found in a compartment on a motorcycle.

Twenty-four-year-old Ruori Gayle, otherwise called ‘Marsh’, was taken into custody and subsequently charged for illegal possession of ammunition.

A woman was also taken into custody after the ganja and ganja seeds were allegedly found in her possession, however the police say her identity is being withheld pending further investigations.

Gayle is scheduled to appear before the Santa Cruz Resident Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS were also called in to disconnect illegal electricity connections in the area.
