Two Clarendon men have been charged with illegal possession of firearm.
They are 25-year-old Clayton Lambert and 35-year-old Fitzroy Elliott, both of Portland Cottage.
It is reported that the police, acting on information, went to a function yesterday on the Rocky Point main road near Lionel Town where they searched two men.
The police say one of the men was found with a point-44 Magnum Smith and Wesson Revolver with five live cartridges in his waistband.
They were taken into custody and were subsequently charged for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
They are to appear in the May Pen Resident Magistrate’s Court on Friday, March 13.
