Two-hundred-and-fifty-five million dollars is being spent to undertake what the authorities say is a much needed upgrade of the Negril to Sheffield corridor in Westmoreland.

The project is being financed by the Tourism Enhancement Fund and is being supervised by the National Works Agency (NWA).

The Negril to Sheffield road rehabilitation project began on February, 24.

The NWA says it may result in minor delays during the six month construction period.

Community Relations Officer for the NWA's Western Region, says the project involves the rehabilitation of the 5.6 kilometres stretch of roadway between the Negril roundabout and the intersection of the Sheffield and Springfield roadways.
