The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Councillor Caucus in the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation (KSAC) has labelled as misleading comments by Mayor of Kingston, Angella Brown Burke on their boycott of the Council meeting yesterday.

The JLP Councillors said they decided to stay away to protest the constant tardiness in the release of the Order Paper for the monthly KSAC meeting.

However, Mayor Brown Burke has been reported as saying the action of the JLP councillors was unacceptable.

She also said the lateness in releasing the Order paper was not a frequent occurrence and there had not been any previous complaints about the matter.

However, the minority leader in the KSAC Councillor Winston Ennis says the JLP councillors have had meetings with the Mayor on numerous occasions and have also raised the matter in Council.

He says the mayor has missed an opportunity to bring some meaningful resolution to the matter by failing to offer a solution to the problem.
