Unseeded Central High from Clarendon this evening sent Calabar High School packing from the 2015 Schools’ Challenge Quiz following a low-scoring match.

Central High advanced to the quarterfinals of the TVJ-aired programme with a 16-14 victory over the former champions.

Despite the score, it was a close affair throughout the three rounds of competition.

In the buzzer section, Calabar at one stage were on 20 points to Central High’s eight.

However, the school from Red Hills Road imploded, even answering when it was not their turn.

Central appeared unbothered and collected quick points in the last 30 seconds to claim a famous victory.

The reaction on social media has been mixed.

On Twitter, ‏@exmixah posted: "Calabar should be glad that track n field requires more brawn than brains or dem goose would a cook at champs #SchoolsChallenge".

‏@LoriJohnsonEnt tweeted: "Wow congrats Central High on winning Calabar in Schools Challenge Quiz".

On Facebook, the reactions were similar.

Novado Blessed Wynter commented in a group: "That beaten (sic) was painful to watch."

Central High will play the winner of St Jago/Camperdown High School match to be aired tomorrow.
