At least five people were seriously injured yesterday following a three-vehicle collision along the Bustamante Highway in Clarendon.

One of the crash victims, Bishop Errol Swaby, told our news centre that he was driving along the highway minutes to 6 o’ clock.

He says on reaching the intersection with Glenmuir Road his car was hit by another vehicle.

According to Bishop Swaby, the car crossed the median, got out of control and slammed into his vehicle.

He further says the car then hit another vehicle before coming to a stop.

The driver of the second car was thrown from the vehicle as a result of the impact.

Two passengers were reportedly pinned inside the vehicle and had to be cut from the car by firefighters.

All four persons had to be rushed to hospital.

Bishop Swaby says he and his two children, who were inside his car, received minor injuries and were shaken up by the ordeal.

He says his wife, Audrey, had to be taken to hospital for medical attention.
