Crooks cheat myJPS, light company makes changes to online bill payment system

The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS), says to combat fraud, it’s now a requirement for customers to register their credit cards in order to pay electricity bills online at myJPS.

In a statement, the company says the measure has become necessary because of the increased use of fraudulent credit cards on the JPS website.

According to the company, “this has negatively impacted our banking partners, who have asked that JPS implement credit card registration on our website.”

“This is a one-time activity: a credit card will need to be registered only once per myJPS account”.

JPS is urging customers to visit its website for more information on how to register their credit cards: https://myjps.jpsco.com/site.
