St Catherine schools reopen following Riverton smoke, Hydel forced to close early

The Education Ministry is reporting that all primary and secondary schools in St Catherine affected by the smoke from the burning Riverton City dump reopened today.

The Hydel Group of Schools in Ferry, St Catherine which was among those affected was also among those opened today.

However, it had to close early because of the impact of the smoke.

The Ministry said at mid-day there were no reported school closures in the Corporate Area.
