No new president named for UTech, says Crawford
Pro-Chancellor, University of Technology (UTech), Vivian Crawford, is refuting claims that a new president has been named for the institution.
Yesterday, it was reported that deputy principal of the University of the West Indies Professor Ishenkumba Kahwa has been appointed president.
However, a release from Crawford yesterday said this is not correct.
He says no appointment has been made by the Council and the search for a new principal is still underway.
Professor Errol Morrison was forced to make way for Ambassador Burchell Whiteman, who now acts as president, after investigation into the university’s operations highlighted a number of deficiencies relating to governance, human resource and financial management.
