The Golf View Hotel in Mandeville, Manchester, was the venue for the recent Manchester Chamber of Commerce's annual awards banquet.

The event saw 27 businesses being nominated across various categories, including banking and finance; business of the year; community impact; hospitality and customer service; entrepreneurship; and education.

First Global Bank (FGB), Victoria Mutual Building Society and Proven Financial Services were the three nominees in the banking and financing category, with Proven taking the award.

"We are really honoured to have been selected as one of the nominees. It shows that we are doing something right. It shows that we are going beyond and above to satisfy our customers, as well as pleasing the people of Manchester and its environs, through our banking and finance services, as well as our social programmes in the community and schools," said Andrea Gayle, FGB's Mandeville branch manager.

Loven McCook, president of the Manchester Chamber of Commerce, said FGB and other businesses were nominated by members of the chamber. "This means that the Manchester community believes that FGB is contributing significantly to the development of the parish by providing financial services to members and creating employment," McCook said.
