Police seeking two suspects

in St Ann woman's murder

The St Ann police are seeking two suspects in the murder of 29-year-old cashier Marlett Briscoe, who was shot and killed at her home in Steer Town in the parish on Sunday.

Inspector Steve Brown told The Gleaner on Monday night that the police are seeking two men in connection with the killing, which has left the volatile community in mourning.

Brown declined to give further details of the investigations.

Briscoe was shot dead around 8:30 Sunday night by gunmen who entered her home in an area of the community known as Gulf.

Reports are that Briscoe was at home with her two children, ages 10 and 13, when the gunmen entered the house. They ordered the children to leave the room, after which they shot the mother several times, killing her on the spot.

Other reports have suggested that the woman was shot in front of her children, who were left unharmed.
