Barbara Gloudon leaves RJR after some 30 years
Seasoned broadcaster, Barbara Gloudon, today spent her last day in studio as the host of RJR’s call-in programme, Hotline.
In an email to the staff today, programme supervisor, Derrick Wilks said this brought to a close, one chapter of Gloudon’s association with RJR 94FM after some 30 years.
"Over the years 'Miss G' has served with distinction, covering National and State events from Kings House and elsewhere, and was the creative genius behind one of our fondest radio drama series 'Wrong Move', serving as scriptwriter and producer," Wilks wrote.
He thanked Gloudon and said the company looked forward to engaging with her in other capacities.
Last month Gloudon, abandoned the talk show after the midday break.
At the time, Gloudon, would not reveal the reason behind her action only saying that all was now well.
"Simple. There was something that I had to deal with and it's dealt with. I spoke with management and I will be at work tomorrow," she told The Gleaner Online on February 5 hours after she left the station, upset.
This afternoon, Gloudon was more accommodating.
"I enjoyed working at Hotline," she told The Gleaner Online, adding that there was no friction or sinister reason for leaving.
