The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) has issued a release saying Andrew Holness has been affirmed as the Opposition Leader.

Opposition Members of Parliament were meeting to determine Holness' fate following an Appeals Court ruling last week dismissing his application the Senate seat court battle involving Arthur Williams and Christopher Tufton.

The JLP says 20 of the 21 Opposition MPs attended the meeting.

North West St Elizabeth MP J C Hutchinson was the only one absent.

However, the JLP says this was unavoidable and Hutchinson communicated his position in writing.
