Festivity reigned at the Edwin Allen High School in Frankfield, Clarendon on Monday morning as staff, students and well-wishers extended the celebration of Saturday’s victory in the girls’ section of the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls’ Athletics Championship – their third win in four years.

Principal, Everton Walters, described the victory as remarkable.

Edwin Allen amassed 321 points, 100 more than its closest competitor, Hydel High.

For head coach, Michael Dyke, it was the “sweetest victory”.

“The pundits had it to say that we would be challenged by St Jago and Hydel High but we beat them by 100 points,” Dyke said.

“We have outstanding athletes who gave their best all round performance and we competed in all areas at the championships for the first time," Dyke continued.

Edwin Allen’s medal haul comprised 10 gold, seven silver and 11 bronze medals.

Shellece Clark came away with three gold medals - the Class Two 100m, the 200m and the 4X100m medal for the record-breaking run of 44.88.
