Fraud Squad arrests St Ann-based attorney
Fraud Squad detectives are questioning a St Ann-based attorney in relation to allegations she defrauded her clients of settlements from a personal injury claim.
The attorney was arrested today and is expected to be charged this evening.
The police are alleging that she represented two people who were involved in a motor vehicle accident then failed to pay over the settlement made by the insurance company.
The attorney is the second to be arrested in two days.
Yesterday prominent attorney Patrick Bailey was arrested and charged with forgery and conspiracy to defraud.
Two other attorneys, Harold Brady and Michael Lorne, are before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on allegations of defrauding millions.
