The Crown is expected to close its case next week, against Hermalinda Parker, who is charged with trafficking in persons.

She is jointly charged with her husband Anthony, and her daughter, Lynn Scantlebury.

The trial started early last month in the Home Circuit Court in downtown Kingston.

The trial is being heard in camera by Justice Jennifer Straw and a seven-member jury.

The Crown is alleging that young girls were recruited from abroad and forced to work at a nightclub operated by the woman.

Hermalinda is the former owner of the Latin Movement Nightclub at the Dunrobin Plaza in St Andrew.
