LOCAL DEVELOPMENT consulting firm Kronos Limited has been appointed advisers, overseeing the sale of the former Breezes Montego Bay hotel.

The resort is located on Gloucester Avenue's 'Hip Strip' in the tourism capital.

Resort Beach Development Limited (RBDL), owners of the property, made the announcement recently. According to RBDL, they are actively seeking a buyer for the 124-room hotel.

Michael McMorris, principal of Kronos, confirming the appointment, stated that his company has been in discussions with potential buyers since February and has already received some offers.

no decisions made

"However, no decisions have yet been made," he said, dispelling media reports suggesting that a deal had almost been cut with a foreign investor.

"The owners have asked us to field offers and also to reach out to our database of international industry players to develop interest. We will continue this information exchange process at least through April and welcome all interested parties to initiate discussions," stated McMorris.

His comments were bolstered by statements made by Sandra Glasgow, chairwoman of RBDL, who has sought to reassure prospective applicants that, "We intend to allow time for interested companies to make site visits and do the necessary independent analysis before we choose a candidate with which to close. We are confident we can create a win-win for RBDL, the new investors, and the city of Montego Bay, within the next several months".
