Members of the Hope General Baptist Church in Hayes, Clarendon are appealing to people to be careful when buying audio equipment following the theft of several items from their building on Friday night. ‎

According to a church member, four speakers, an amplifier and a set of cordless microphones were stolen during a break-in on the night of Good Friday.

Wooden boxes in which the church's 15-inch speakers were fixed were later found in a nearby unfinished, abandoned building.

It is theorised that that's where the hoodlums went to remove the speakers.

Church members are appealing to the culprits to return the items.

"It's God's house and I never expect that a normal person would come here and tamper with God's instruments to take them away and destroy them. I hope the persons who takes them would realise themselves and take it back because the church need music," said one church sister.
