Residents of communities surrounding Heroes Circle in Central Kingston are now out in their numbers waiting for a chance to see United States president Barack Obama.

Scores of persons are now waiting in the boiling sun although Obama is not scheduled to arrive for at least another hour.

Security personnel have blocked off sections of Duke Street, East Street and other connecting roads in preparation for the arrival of the US president later this afternoon.

President Obama will be laying a wreath at the cenotaph of Jamaican soldiers who perished in both World Wars.

But persons are upset that they cannot get closer to Heroes Circle and Heroes Park to get a better look at the president.

They say it is important for them to be there to welcome him as he is 'the real big man'.
