Colonel Daniel Pryce salutes US President Barack Obama at National Heroes Park on Thursday.

Police Commissioner Dr Carl Williams is commending the men and women of the security forces for what he says was the successful execution of the security strategy developed to protect United State President Barack Obama and other CARICOM leaders during their visit to the island this week.

Williams says the performance of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) and the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) has earned high praises from a top US Secret Service Agent.

He says this observation is testimony to the fact that the security forces have the capacity to handle security for major events.

Williams says the deployment done around President Obama’s visit remains unprecedented.
