New health centre built in Exchange, St Ann
Residents of Exchange in St Ann now have a new 3,500 square foot health centre. The facility was opened by Health Minister Dr Fenton Ferguson on Friday.
According to Ferguson, the new health centre should impact positively on the health seeking behaviour of residents. He says improving services at the community level is part of the government’s commitment to provide quality and accessible healthcare. About 16 health centres have now been constructed or refurbished in the past two years.
The Exchange Health Centre was constructed at a cost of J$56 million and was financed by the National Health Fund and the CHASE Fund.
