The National Works Agency (NWA) is to carry out repairs on 40 additional corridors and intersections in Kingston and St Andrew in the coming weeks.

Under the special work programme, which was launched two weeks ago, the NWA did significant work along some major corridors, including Maresceux Road; Heroes Circle; Caledonia Avenue, as well as the intersection of Oxford Road and Old Hope Road.

More than 30 corridors and intersections were completed under the first phase of the programme, which coincided with last week’s visit of United States President, Barack Obama.

Communication and Customer Services Manager at the NWA, Stephen Shaw says the next phase of work will include Marcus Gravey Drive, Lyndhurst Road, Washington Boulevard, Ripon Road, Hagley Park Road, Deanery Road, August Town Road, Molynes Road, Spanish Town Road and Meadowbrook Avenue.

Shaw says the intersections at Waltham Park Road and Hagley Park Road, Half-Way Tree Road and Chelsea Avenue; Constant Spring Road and West Road; Molynes Road and Waltham Park Road will also be repaired under the programme.

The NWA says this phase of the works is to be completed within the next six weeks. The public is being advised to obey the instructions of flag-persons and posted signs during the work.
