Two COK offices evacuated after threats

Several businesses and at least one school in Kingston and St Andrew had to be evacuated this morning as a result of bomb threats.

Threats were allegedly made against the COK office on Slipe Pen Road as well as the company’s Winchester Business Center location.

Businesses along Slipe Pen Road in the vicinity of the company and all businesses in the Winchester Business Center were evacuated.

Traffic was also diverted from the areas as fire and police personnel carried out checks.

Deputy Superintendent of the Jamaica Fire Brigade Patrick Gooden says no bomb has been detected at the Winchester location and as result persons have returned to work there.

However, he says checks are still being carried out at COK’s Slipe Pen Road location.
