The Kingston Mayor says a permanent plan is to be put in place to regulate illegal food vendors at the National Heroes Circle, Rockfort and Rae Town.

The vendors were removed and their stalls demolished in the lead up to the visit of President Obama on April 8.

The government was criticised over the move.

Speaking with journalists following yesterday’s monthly meeting of the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation, Senator Brown Burke said it was only a matter of time before the vendors were removed as the KSAC has been cracking down on illegal vending across the Corporate Area.

The Kingston Mayor says she will be meeting with the vendors soon about plans for the future.
