Police investigating downtown Kingston shooting which left two dead

The Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an incident on West Street, downtown Kingston yesterday which left two persons dead and two others injured.

Reports are that about 5:30 p.m, a gunman shot dead an unidentified man on West Street.

The Police responded and were reportedly challenged by the gunman, who opened fire.

The gunman and two other persons were injured during the exchange.

The injured persons have since been taken to the hospital.
The gunman succumbed to his injuries.

A firearm was also seized.

The Police are again urging persons to surrender in a peaceful manner whenever officers attempt to arrest them.

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has been informed and is also probing the matter.
