Three Mandeville-based car dealers charged as Carmax probe deepens

Three Mandeville-based used-car dealers have been arrested and charged as the police deepen their probe into a suspected fraud at Carmax Limited.

Forty-six-year-old Dwight Tyndale, 30-year-old Peter Blake and 38-year-old Barrington Biggs have been charged under the Proceeds of Crime Act with several counts of engaging in cash transactions above the prescribed limit of $1 million.

It is reported that between October 2014 and April 2015, the men bought 69 motor vehicles valued approximately $81 million.

They are to appear before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court (Criminal Division) on Tuesday, May 26.

Carmax director, Daren Blake who was on Friday, March 13 arrested for fraudulent conversion, is facing similar charges and will appear in court on the same date.
